SOPOPULAR's Stage Show was the first presentation I attended last week during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin. It was a great start into the busy fashion week. The title of the Berlin-based menswear label's spring/summer 2014 collection is 'Black Hole Sun' and it's been inspired by 90's music and the Japanese architect Tadao Andō. Designer Daniel Blechman processed this creative mix into twelve summery modern looks for the man. Especially music is a big influence for SOPOPULAR starting with the design to the point of the presentation during MBFWB. Daniel Blechman is fascinated by Grunge music and found inspiration for the new looks in Soundgarden's song 'Black Hole Sun'. Accordingly the new designs show the classic SOPOPULAR silhouette with slim cuts and stringent lines in black and white look. A highlight of the collection is the self-designed 3D print in black and white cube look that can be found as digital print on shirt, shorts and bomber jacket. I have to say that this was one of my favourite of the collections I saw last week. The looks are clean and easy but at the same time so refined that the wearer will definitely stand out. Most of the girls I talked to who've seen the show as well agree with me that this is what we'd like to see the guys in.
