Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin and Wimbledon took place at the same time so the tennis inspired setting of Franziska Michael's spring/summer 2014 presentation was quite fittingly. There were tennis balls everywhere, the models were turned into tennis players and the background noise was a tennis game. The clean white and neon yellow coloured pieces completed the tennis picture. Aside from white and yellow the ESMOD graduate also used eyecatching prints and managed to create sporty, comfortable looks that have nothing to do with the typical dreary tennis outfits we all know. A day prior to her show Franziska Michael won the Premium Young Design Award for womenswear. She started with her label in 2010 and since then made name for herself in the Berlin fashion scene. Congrats to Franziska for winning the award! I really hope to see more of her work in the future.
