MALAIKARAISS Fall/Winter 2013

Here are my photos from the MALAIKARAISS show I attended last week. The presentation took place at the beautiful location Villa Elisabeth again. The collection is named 'THE WEIRDNESS OF BEING' and was inspired by Lydia Deetz, a character from the movie 'Beetlejuice' who was played by Winona Ryder. MALAIKARAISS interpreted 90's grunge elements in a subtle way and the colours of choice were petrol green, poppy red and warm browns next to black and white. I like the wide, flowing cuts that look feminine and very elegant yet at the same time very comfortable. Among my favourite looks were a black dress accessorised with a pink bag and wide-legged white trousers combined with a loose-cut black top, a look that reminded me of Marlene Dietrich. After the show guests were spoiled with yummy macarons by Makr├ÂnchenBelvedere Vodka cocktails and champagne. MALAIKARAISS established itself as one of my favourite Berlin-based labels and I hope you my lovely readers like it too. I'll post some press pictures from the show within the next few days, stay tuned!
