Kilian Kerner Spring/Summer 2012

I bet there was no one in the audience at Kilian Kerner's spring/summer 2012 fashion show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin who didn't have goosebumps afterwards. Before we got to see the collection named "Unsere Reise bis woanders" (Our journey to somewhere else) Danish singer and songwriter Mads Langer performed the song "somewhere else" which has been written by Kilian Kerner and created an emotional atmosphere which captivated the audience. With the second song the puristic styled models entered the runway which was made of tiles and extra created for the show by V&B Fliesen. With long steps the models presented creations for men and women that are made of throughout flowing fabrics that swirl around the body. In the womenswear the focus lies on floor-length, slim-fitting dresses, skirt-and-shirt combinations as well as mini dresses with puristic used asymmetries. The menswear is dominated by an imaginative and surprising colour and fabric mix. The models presented precise cut suits in pink or two-toned in nude and cream. Geometric shapes are drawn by refined stitching and stand out in multicoloured designs. Combined with each style were moccasins by "Sioux designed by Kilian Kerner" which are summery casual and come in matching colours.
The great performance of Mads Langer and the beautiful dresses Kilian Kerner showed made it one of the most impressing fashion shows for me at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin this July. Keep an eye on Kilian Kerner because I'm sure there's more to come!
