WAYNE Fall/Winter 2011

WAYNE has been launched in 2007 by Wayne Lee - a former Barneys New York buyer - who's known for her futuristic concept of dress. Wayne Lee was born in Vietnam in 1974 to Chinese parents and draws strength from her childhood experiences in the war, and her family's dramatic escape to the United States. This resilience continues to guide her designs for the self-actualizing, confident woman. A year after Wayne founded her label WAYNE she won the prestigious Ecco Domani Fashion Fund award and she was also one of the finalists for the 2009 CFDA/VOGUE Fashion Fund. Always with a nod to advancements in technology, WAYNE experiments with coated fabrics, industrial metals and washed leathers while keeping the designs minimal and sleek with classic silhouettes that are remolded into new defiant proportions. Thoughtfully crafted, WAYNE represents an image that is modern, lean and intelligent. For fall/winter 2011 the silhouettes are dominated by flowing layers and asymmetrical cuts that are underlined with smartly placed zippers. Brown, black and white are the primary colours with a bright red used for a few pieces being the only colour highlight in the collection. The midi and maxi lengths and the all white looks give this strict collection its feminine touch. Below you'll find a selection of WAYNE's fall/winter 2011 runway looks. For more visit waynenyc.com
