MYKITA Fall/Winter 2011

For the fall/winter 2011 season MYKITA created some cool new eyewear in their manufactory in the heart of Berlin. One of the collection's highlights is HOLLY which has been inspired by the butterfly form which has been the most successful form for women's glasses in the 50's and 60's but interpreted in a new and modern way. The MYKITA team also collaborated with Bernhard Willhelm on a collection of sunglasses and they created a series of styles that are superior design statements. One of them is XAVER that has already been shown at Bernhard Willhelm's fall/winter 2011 fashion show and that sported slogans like 'No limits!', 'Never too old' and 'This is it!' - words that paraphrase the 'American Dream' and stand for modified realities like age, failure, spectacle, extremes, ambitions, being and wannabe. Inspired by Sophia Loren, the 'Miss Eleganza' of the 60's, Bernhard Willhelm and MYKITA designed VIOLETTA that comes with an unusual color gradient and celebrates a new present psychedelic look.
