ACHTEINHALB is a concept store that you should definitely pay a visit to when you're going to Berlin. The store openend last year in November and is the fifth concept store by ACHTEINHALB but opposed to the four previous stores that have only been temporary projects the new store is here to stay. ACHTEINHALB carries a selection of Berlin designers like Kilian Kerner, Esther Perbandth, Liebig, Paula Immich and Carni as well as other lesser-known brands from all over the world like Beyond the Valley from London. In a finely designed and very comfortable living room atmosphere you can also shop wonderful coffee-table books, selected CD boxes and even ACHTEINHALB's own wine.
Currently ACHTEINHALB is hosting the exhibition 'THE SITUATION' by Dorit Bialer - a Berlin-based artist and graphic designer from Israel. Her objects are dealing with social issues, mostly mixing visual aesthetics from childhood and adulthood combined. The objects she creates seem colourful and playful at first sight but reveal a disturbing truth at second glance. THE SITUATION is a reflection of Dorit Bialer's own experience and observation of 'Israeli activism', after participating in numerous left wing demonstrations and actions. What is activism at 2011?
The exhibition runs until May 14, 2011.

Store address: Kollwitzstra├če 42, 10405 Berlin
