Yves Saint Laurent Fall/Winter2011

For Fall/Winter 2011 Stefano Pilati got inspiration from the 60's and 70's archives of Yves Saint Laurent. He managed to perfectly translate what he found there to our decade and presented looks that could also have been created by the iconic label founder himself. The daytime looks have a 60's influence which is displayed in the mini skirts and A-line silhouettes. Aside from a few colour splashes in blue and purple the looks were kept in non-colours. The Prince of Wales checks that dominated the collection combined with Pilati's precise tailoring add up to an elegant, very modern look. Stefano Pilati created a collection that's very feminine despite the play with volume and the sometimes rather masculine cuts which also have been a signature of Yves Saint Laurent - something that's not too easy. The evening wear was kept completely in white and came with glamorous details. Softer and longer silhouettes remind of the 70's. Very simple yet totally modern - and probably on every woman's wishlist now.
