Esther Perbandt Fall/Winter 2011

During Berlin Fashion Week I've been attending the Esther Perbandt fall/winter 2011 show which took place off the tent at Bebelplatz at the new nhow hotel. 'TRACES OF PHO' has been presented in collaboration with Italian artist Marco Pho Grassi who created an artwork live during the show on a plexiglass panel that has been installed at the beginning of the runway. Esther Perbandt who's known for her androgynous vanguard collections enthused me as usual with her sharp and excellent tailored clothes and lots of love to details. The collection was primarily kept in black and white but also featured pieces in blue, camel and in a pattern in Marco Pho Grassis handwriting. Details like attached straps and chains, tapered jackets and trousers, straps crossed at the back, interweaved strings, dresses with low cut backs and the high-class tailoring show that Esther Perbandt knows her trade. nhow hotels raw, industrial premises provided the perfect background for this sophisticated collection and the enigmatic guests including Polarkreis 18 that gathered together to see the show. I also liked that the models sported the designers typical haircut. I hope you love the collection as much as I do!
