1205 is a new fashion label that launched its first collection titled 'One' for spring/summer 2010. Paula Gerbase the designer behind the brand is a Central Saint Martins BA womenswear alumna who worked for Alistair Carr and Gareth Pugh before beginning her couture training at the atelier of Hardy Aimes, Savile Row in 2004. Following this, she went on to work at Kilgour where she's been working as Head Designer for five years before launching her own label 1205. For spring/summer 2010 she presented a capsule collection of 25 pieces that features menswear and womenswear with a strong emphasis on the idea of a unisex wardrobe. The silhouettes embrace the designers tailoring education while the deconstruction of tailored norms have created a lighter and more relaxed look. Traditional tailoring techniques and cut are fused with a relaxed sensitivity while using high quality fabrics that come in a colour palette of greys, blues, blacks and whites. 'One' is a timeless and very stylish collection. I love the unisex look and judging from what I've seen so far of the 1205 fall/winter 2010 collection that will be continued - blurring the boundaries of mens and womenswear even more. A label to watch....
