Kristinit's Fall 2009 Collection: The LOVE Campaign

The Kristinit label is named after the Latvian version of founder Kristina Lenss’ name and is based in Los Angeles. Kristina studied costume design at the renowned Wimbledon School of Art in London and has an M.F.A. in Costume Design from UCLA. Kristinit was named as Lucky Magazine's "One to Watch" and has been featured in OK Magazine, InTouch,, Nylon and Apparel News. Celebrity clients include Eva Mendes, Scarlett Johansson, Zoe Deshanel, Bobbie Thomas and Finola Hughes. A key tenet of Kristinit’s mission has always been to design with more than just style in mind: The line uses innovative organic fabrics, local manufacturing, and fair trade practices, and Kristinit continues to donate a percentage of each sale to One Percent for the Planet and the Pachamama Alliance.

Now Kristinit introduces its Fall 2009 Collection: the LOVE Campaign. Its mission: a holistic approach to high fashion, one that links social responsibility with sumptuous, sustainable fabrics and playfully classic designs. The collection embraces versatility and elegance. The 30’s-era classicism of knee-grazing hemlines and belted day dresses play hopscotch with Victorian demureness and Faye Dunaway '60's chic. Custom designed fabrics and innovative tailoring make the pieces ultra-modern. Attention to detail is key to the collection, like dramatic circle sleeves that bring daintiness to smoky, monochromatic tunics. Through collaboration with design consultant Zoë Melo, custom lace pieces, handmade by artisan weavers in Brazil, are one of the line’s most swoon-worthy details. This marriage of traditional craftsmanship and trend-forward design is set against the backdrop of the line’s devotion to nature: from design inspiration to fabric selection to construction. From black-and-white Indian silk motifs to hourglass silhouettes and nipped waistlines, the LOVE Campaign is indeed supremely ladylike—and oh-so-easy to fall in love with.
